No subscription and no platform fee. Model rates are per token in USD and appear inside an approved account before use. Completed usage settles against one prepaid balance.
Payments are disabled in the current private preview. Approved beta accounts receive honest funding and pricing states.
How billing works

Status
Public rates open with the models.
We do not publish a static marketing table while approved retail rates are being finalized. The catalog inside an approved account is the source of truth.
Per model
Rates are approved and displayed model by model, never averaged across the catalog.
Per token
Input and output tokens are priced separately for each callable model.
Verified only
If a model has no approved public price, the price is withheld rather than estimated.
Methodology
How we compare prices.
When a comparison is shown, it means the same model's approved Astrodyne rate is compared with that vendor's published direct rate for a stated workload.
- Per model, never across the catalog.
- Against the vendor's published list price captured at a stated time.
- For a stated workload of input and output tokens.
- Dollars, not percentages.
- Withheld rather than estimated when no approved public price exists.
When no verified comparison can be shown, we state Pricing comparison unavailable. A comparison is not a quote, guarantee, or prediction of your bill.

Pricing questions
How does billing work?
Astrodyne uses a prepaid balance. Each request places a hold and then settles at the approved retail rate for the tokens actually used. Settled charges appear in Records and Usage.
What is the balance?
A prepaid amount you draw down as you use the API. Every credit and charge is recorded as balance activity, so the balance you see is the sum of activity you can inspect.
Where can I see prices for a specific model?
In the Model Catalog inside an approved account, alongside the models currently available to you.
Do I need to change my code?
Point an OpenAI-compatible client at https://api.astrodyne.ai/v1 with your Astrodyne key. The rest of your code stays within the documented compatibility scope.
Is there a subscription or platform fee?
No. There is no monthly subscription and no platform fee. You pay only for settled usage.
When can I add funds?
Payments are disabled in the current private preview. Funding becomes available once an account is approved for the private beta.
